The 2018 Chablis Montmain 1er Cru was vinified mainly in stainless steel and spent 9 months in barrel. It has a clean, fresh, slightly chalky nose that is nicely delineated and exudes much more Chablis DNA than the Village Cru. The palate is very well balanced, with a fine bead of acidity, and lightly honeyed in texture, revealing hints of dried mango and apricot. The finish is richer than expected. Very fine. Drinking window: 2021-2032. Score - 91. (Neal Martin, vinous.com, Sept. 2020)
