The 2020 Volnay Les Fremiets 1er Cru wax picked on 26 August. It has an opulent red cherry, kirsch scented nose that would benefit from a little more delineation. The 50% whole bunch is neatly integrated on the palate, but it just misses some precision and mineralité on the finish. Drinking window: 2025-2035. Score - 89-92.
