The caramel and subtle Bourbon notes in this wine are imparted by two months ageing in Bourbon barrels. These bring a layer of additional complexity and character to the roasted dark fruit, cassis, vanilla, mocha, cedar and smoke in the wine and do so without overstepping, enhancing rather than dominating the wine. A good option for smoked vegetables and a coffee-rubbed steak.
