Coming all from old vine Carignan, the 2019 Côtes Catalanes Cayrol has a classic nose of mulled red and black berry fruits intermixed with lots of brambly herbs, earth, and chocolate. Nicely textured and medium to full-bodied, with solid tannins (which can be a problem with Carignan), this beauty will shine for a good 4-5 years. Maturity: 2020-2025. Score - 92.
