Valle Hermoso was first planted in 2006 very close to the sea in the Casablanca zone, 10 kilometers from the Pacific. This pinot comes from there, and it reveals a maritime influence in a fruit-focused wine. Ripe red fruit flavors rely on firm, tense acidity - a column of acidity that travels across the palate. With 30% stems to support the structure (which they do very well), this is a weighty wine with good body, but it hasn't lost its freshness. [Drink through 2023.] Score - 94.
