Vidal's 2019 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc is drawn primarily (85%) from the Wairau Valley, with the balance coming from Awatere. The Awatere lends an herbal edge to the passion fruit and tropical notes of Wairau, blending together nicely on the nose and palate. It's medium-bodied, with a touch more concentration and depth than the regular bottling, and there's a hint of creaminess to the texture and a lingering finish. Drink date: 2020-2021. Score - 90.
